Backpacks and Detective Trail - half term activities

This half term bring the family to the National Waterways Museum and enjoy our special activities.

We are open Tuesdays to Sundays (10am to 4pm) - closed on Mondays

This half term 5 - 7 year olds can explore our museum with the help of special back packs loaded with information and activity ideas. It holds:

  • essential equipment - a site map and magnifying glass
  • I-Spy book
  • intriguing canal-related kit such as a horse brass, a set of gears and a set of nuts and bolts

Plus, there's a Battle of the Boats top trumps game for the family to play together.

Young visitors can borrow one of our backpacks for free from the reception desk when you arrive. 

Follow the Detective trail and see how many of the clues you can find.

Visit the Island Warehouse craft station and choose one of our selection of waterway themed colouring activities (guardian supervision needed).

Take a break

Please remember to give yourselves a break and treat yourselves to a drink and something to eat in our Waterside Cafe and have a look at what we have in our shop.

We are open from Tuesdays through to Sundays (10am to 4pm) - closed on Mondays.

 

Your admission ticket to the National Waterways Museum will give you free entrance for 12 months including our event days such as the Easter Gathering.
