Come along for the inaugural Sing for Water Gloucester event.
Come along to the Mariners square for the inaugural Sing for Water Gloucester Event.
Every year Sing for Water performances take place across the UK raising funds for WaterAid which works to transform the lives of the world's poorest peoples by providing access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene. Groups of singers learn the music separately and then come together for one Big Sing.
Gloucestershire has never had its own event, until now. Two Natural Voice choir leaders, Monika Murrell and Kirsty Abraham, have decided to put on Gloucester’s first Sing for Water event at Gloucester Docks on 2 September, coinciding with the annual Gloucester Day parades and celebrations.
The massed choir will sing a selection of water-themed songs, including a sea shanty specially arranged for the occasion. Gloucester has a strong and historic connection with river, canal and sea and the docks are a fitting venue for this inaugural event.
