The Canal & River Trust will be celebrating the early days of canals at the National Waterways Museum, on Sunday, 13 August, with Horses at Work.
Now in its eighth year, the event has become one of the most popular attractions in the museum’s annual calendar of events.
Come along to the museum to see working horses giving a unique demonstration of horse-drawn canal boating, including the horses being shod. Plus, get the chance to take a wagonette ride round the historic canal docks. There will be performances by Kate Vigurs and there will be pony rides for children – a fun day out for all the family.
As well as the horses, all the usual museum attractions will be available:
...and more – all within each reach of junction 9 of the M53.
