Visitors are invited to our free open weekend. Take a look inside one of the drained locks and walk along the bottom of the lock chamber, learn about the works we’re doing to repair the flight at Stoke Bruerne from the Trust’s experts and volunteers. Works taking place here involve replacing a number of wooden lock gates that have come to the end of their life.

Activities over the weekend include:

  • Free lock chamber visits
  • Free angling taster sessions (weather dependant)
  • Free canoeing taster sessions (we would strongly advise to bring a change of clothing and towel)
  • Stoke Bruene Canal Museum Entry fees apply -Adults - £4.75, Children - £3.10, Pensioners -£3.80
  • Take a boat trip on 'Charlie'- Adults - £3.50,Children - £2.50
  • Meet a working boater from the 1800's - storytelling at 11:30am, 12:30pm, 14:00pm & 15:00pm

A vintage bus will provide a park and ride facility from the Elizabeth Woodville School in Roade. 

For our younger visitors there will be an educational trail, with a chance to collect stickers at a range of activities.
