LNBP Community Boating at Braunston

LNBP Community Boating at Braunston, formerly known as the London Narrow Boat Project, is a Registered Charity, a non-profit making voluntary organisation and a Company limited by Guarantee.

The organisation was founded in 1981 by a group of teachers, youth workers and canal enthusiasts who recognised the benefit of introducing children and young people, particularly from the inner cities, to the enjoyment of canals and inland waterways.

This ethos still continues to be at the forefront of the organisation’s aims and operations today. LNBP provides canal boat holidays, residential breaks and day trip experiences by welcoming community groups and organisations of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy the experience of canal boating aboard its two purpose-built canal boats, called Guinevere and Lancelot.

Each year LNBP provides the opportunity for a wide variety of user groups from all over the UK to enjoy inexpensive canal boating holidays in central England. These groups include schools, colleges, youth groups, clubs, uniformed organisations and associations, groups working with the disabled, the partially sighted and those with special needs, and organisations working with the disadvantaged and unemployed.

And LNBP's boats moored at Braunston and the historic junction of the Grand Union and North Oxford Canals on the Northamptonshire/Warwickshire border, there are so many different routes to explore and places to potentially visit as part of any weekend or midweek residential break.
