Portland Basin Marina Ltd

Portland Basin Marina is a small friendly independent marina based at the junction of the Lower Peak Forest, Huddersfield Narrow and Ashton canals.

We were established in 2000 just in time for the grand opening of the Huddersfield Narrow canal and have been offering a growing range of services to boaters since then. Our services include dry dock facilities, day boat hire and holiday hire, we also have secure moorings here and at the new Droylsden Marina.

Moorings We have permanent and temporary moorings at both Portland Basin Marina and Droylsden Marina which is located at the Fairfeld Junction on the Ashton Canal, at the top of the flight of locks into Manchester.

Dry Dock - this is a covered facility for all weather repairs. It is available for DIY or we can carry out hull blacking or repairs for you.

Day Boat and holiday hire – Portland Basin Boat Hire Our 32 foot Narrowboats are available for day hire throughout the year from £90, they will accommodate up to 10 people. The boats are equipped with a two burner hob, sink, and crockery; they also have flushing toilets. The cabins are heated for cooler days.
