Northampton

Northampton

The large county town of Northampton sits on the River Nene and the Northampton Branch of the Grand Union Canal. The spires of several historic churches overlook the town, which also has a 750-year-old market and a Victorian Gothic guildhall.

Adrenalin-junkies can get their fix at the Nene Whitewater Centre, with rafting, tubing and canoeing. Billing Aquadrome is an expanse of parkland with thickly wooded areas, a marina and camping and caravan sites.
