Survey terms and conditions

  1. The prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over, except employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the prize draw. Volunteers working with the Promoter may enter.

  2. The prize draw is free to enter to those who have done the survey and no purchase is necessary.

  3. All entries must be submitted [via the Spot That Habitat survey] and only one entry per person one entry per household is permitted.

  4. The opening date for entries is 12:00 on Monday 28 March. The closing date of the prize draw is 12:00 noon on Wednesday 31 August. Entries received after this time will not be valid.

  5. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault.

  6. Only One winner will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process on [Thursday 1 September 2022] ("Draw Date").

  7. The winner will receive a voucher worth £800 to be redeemed against a holiday booked with Drifters Waterway Holidays Drifters Leisure Limited Company Number: 02972938. There is only one voucher available as a prize. There will only be one prize winner. At the time of writing these prize draw terms £800 (inclusive of VAT) will pay for a short break holiday for 3-4 days on a boat for up to four people departing from a choice of locations at certain times of the year.  If the winner wishes to put it towards a bigger boat, for a longer period of time, or during peak season; the winner must pay the difference in price.  The voucher will only be redeemable against a holiday advertised via https://www.drifters.co.uk. The winner will receive details about how to make the booking via email. A holiday booked will be subject to the terms and conditions of the holiday provider. Some Drifters operators ask for a compulsory, non-refundable, £50 damage waiver as an extra. If this cost is applied and it brings the cost of the holiday to more than £800, this damage waiver will be payable by the prize winner. Personal holiday insurance is not included.  A canal boat holiday may not suit all access requirements. Certain space restrictions and practical safety considerations apply on board canal boats which may prevent a person with a disability or reduced mobility from accessing the boat and/or complying with all safety requirements.

  8. The winner will be notified by email (using details provided at entry) before Monday 5 September 2022 and must provide a postal address to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within [21] days of being notified by the Promoter, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.

  9. The prize must be redeemed not later than 31 July 2023 against the booked holiday. The holiday booking will be subject to availability.  The holiday must take place not later than 31 October 2023.

  10. The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

  11. The prize is supplied by Drifters Waterway Holidays (the "Supplier"). The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter's control makes it necessary to do so.

  12. The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

  13. The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the first name and county of major prize winners and, if applicable copies of their winning entries, to anyone who contacts us https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/contact-us or writes to Canal & River Trust, National Waterways Museum Ellesmere Port, South Pier Road, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, CH65 4FW (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within [one] month after the closing date stated in condition 4. If you object to any or all of your first name, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter [https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/contact-us]. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

  14. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

  15. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.

  16. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

  17. Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will only be processed as set out in the Promoter's [Privacy Policy]. See also condition 13 with regard to the announcement of winners.

  18. The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
