Community programmes at the Commonwealth Games 2022

We are proud to be a founding member of the United by Birmingham 2022 programme for our range of community activity and wellbeing programmes happening across the West Midlands.

United by Birmingham 2022 is a new programme that brings together ambitious and innovative not-for-profit projects.

It has been created to empower people through the Commonwealth Games by celebrating community and wellbeing activities like ours that are having a positive impact on the communities that they serve.

We have three areas of activity: games volunteers, our 'Let's' community activity and wellbeing programme, and our #PlasticsChallenge which includes our partnership with WASUP.

During 2022 we will be providing a range of activities that you can get involved in and experience our waterways in a different way.

#PlasticsChallenge and our partnership with WASUP

We are working on our own initiatives and in partnership with Professor Rashid Gatrad to broaden the impact the Walsall-based World Against Single Use Plastics (WASUP) programme has made.

Our challenge is to clean up a minimum of 22 miles of canal before the opening cermony on 28 July 2022.
