Who's in our partnership

Our East Midlands Partnership connects local people and communities, as well as advises on strategic plans. Our partnership includes:

Danny Brennan, chair

Danny has worked at executive director level on regeneration, planning, transport, environment and community development in English public service for the past decade, in the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and Norfolk. He spent the previous 10 years in various policy and structural fund programme roles in the European Commission based in Brussels. 

Matthew Easter

Matthew is regional director for the East Midlands with Sustrans and oversees a range of projects throughout the region. He is also spokesperson for sustainable transport issues. He has a background in sustainable development, climate change and environmental regeneration based work. 

Valerie Holt MBE

Valerie is a trustee and current chair of the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust as well as a director of East Midlands Environmental Consultants. Valerie has been involved with the Institute of Fisheries Management since 1985 as treasurer and now vice president, as well as an Honorary Fellow. In 2010 Valerie was awarded an MBE for services to fisheries management and conservation.

David Pullen

David is a consultant on rural and agricultural engineering projects including waterways, and presently a retained consultant with Lincolnshire Waterways Partnership and honorary engineer for Sleaford Navigation Trust (SNT). David is also an active volunteer with IWA Festivals, (waterspace director) and SNT, and also with the Canal & River Trust in London for the 2012 Olympic Games. David is a chartered engineer and has a narrowboat moored at Sileby Mill on the River Soar.

Shirley Rogers

Shirley's working background is in administration management with many years spent in sales and marketing. She now works part time for an engineering company. She plays an active part in community events and she is a part of a fundraising team and treasurer for her local church. 

Robin Stonebridge

Robin is the chair of the Chesterfield Canal Trust and has wide experience of working on Boards at local, regional and national level. His doctoral research explored social constructions of virtual working environments. He lives in Anston, South Yorkshire.

Andy Wilkinson

Andy works for the Environment Agency in Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire, where he has held a number of senior management roles in Waterways Development, Flood Risk and Environment Management. He also has a background in community engagement and volunteering.

Katherine Wilson

Katherine Wilson is based near the Grantham Canal just outside Nottingham and has a marketing consultancy where she works with local authorities, not for profit organisations and SMEs. She has a post-graduate diploma in heritage studies.

Seán McGinley

Seán McGinley is the Waterway Manager for the Canal and River Trust in the East Midlands managing over 300km of waterway, a position he has held since 2009. Sean has worked for us (and British Waterways before that) since 2003. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer by profession having started with the waterways as a project engineer managing major repair schemes to waterway assets.
