David is chief executive of Stroud District Council. His authority is leading the award winning restoration of the Cotswold Canal in the Stroud Valleys. Recent awards include the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE), the Living Waterways Awards and the Institution of Civil Engineers. He has been a member of a wide range of regional and national bodies; the most recent being as a Commissioner on the Low Commission.

A civil engineer by background, Nick has worked in most parts of the Midlands and South West waterway network since 1999 and has worked up the ranks from waterway engineer to senior manager, joining the Gloucester operations in 2007.
A Chartered Water & Environmental manager, Incorporated Engineer, and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Chartered Institute of Water & Environmental management, Nick holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Business Management and is also a Governor at Gloucestershire College.
