Walter Menzies, chair

Visiting Professor in the department of civi design at University of Liverpool, board member of Atlantic Gateway Partnership, trustee of the Land Trust and former chief executive officer at Mersey Basin Campaign.

Dr Tayo Adebowale

Director of Cirkadia, and environmental consultant with a PhD in water quality/management. Member of Environment Agency Regional Flood and Coastal Committee, member of CIWEM. Tayo has over nine years experience as non-exec director within public sector. 

Ian Banks

Chartered architect and director of Atoll Collaborative. Ian also acts as a built environment expert for Design Council CABE and is a fellow of the RSA. National Advisory Panel member for the Trust Arts on the waterways group and currently arts project manager for the Welsh National Sailing Academy in Pwllheli.

Keith Barnes

Former chief executive and director in the civil service, local government and academia. Since leaving Salford University where Keith was pro vice chancellor, he has undertaken a range of non-executive roles with Regenda (social housing), Groundwork (environment) and Salford College (educational).

Graham Birch

Ray Butler

Secretary of the Macclesfield Canal Society. Lead volunteer with the Trust's Macclesfield Towpath Taskforce. Ray is a retired information systems audit, risk management and information governance professional

Chris Findley

Assistant Director Planning at Salford City Council.  Trustee on the Healthy Waterways Trust.   

Julian Holder

Julian teaches architectural history and conservation at the University of Salford's School of Built Environment. Previously inspector of Historic Buildings and Areas with English Heritage and prior to that he was director of the Scottish Centre for Conservation Studies, Edinburgh college of Art School of Architecture.

Kate Hughes

Kate has 15 years experience in communications and marketing in both the public and private sector. In her job with the Environment Agency, Kate is involved in managing a diverse range of reputational risks and issues, being prepared for major incidents, as well as leading a multi-discipline corporation communications function.

Keith Sexton

Former director of environment, health and safety for the Amey Group. Previously chair of environmental partnership of the City of Birmingham where he was elected as regional West Midlands "Green Leader" Keith has a first degree in engineering and a masters degree in environmental management.

Nigel Stevens

Operator of hire boats, moorings and full service boatyard on Manchester and Pennine's canals. Elected member of the Trust council representing boating businesses.

Jon Stopp

David Baldacchino (Waterway Manager)

Waterway Manager for the Manchester and Pennine Waterway.  Chartered Civil Engineer who joined British Waterways regional project management team in 2000. Formerly involved in projects to complete the M60 Manchester outer ring road.
