It’s the autumn, and this month’s Boating Bulletin brings you news of winter moorings, the mooring strategy and more improvements to boater facilities in London. We’re also switching to publication at the beginning of every month to bring you all the news about forthcoming events and to look back on the previous month’s activity. Sadly, we therefore have no September issue, but here’s to October!

After a glorious Bank Holiday with the promise of more sun to come, we’re looking forward to late summer canal festivals and leisurely days on the towpath. Come and see us at our new Old Ford Lock welcome station on the Lee, at festivals on our floating welcome station Jena, and at various boater events to hear about our draft London Mooring Strategy. The sun may be out, but it’s time to start thinking about winter moorings too!

This month we’re celebrating our Green Flag Award on the River Lee and the completion of our edible garden at Stonebridge! The August Bank Holiday sees the exciting East London Waterway Festival, as well as the Angel, Slough and Hayes Festivals in September, and there’s so much to do with the Towpath Taskforce and new volunteering opportunities. Perhaps we’ll see you soon at an event?
