In 2017 we were very proud to receive the coveted Green Flag Award for the eastern section of the Chesterfield Canal from Welham Bridge, Retford to West Stockwith. This year we're aiming to cover our entire section of this beautiful waterway, all the way to Kiveton Park.
The Green Flag Award recognises the hard work carried out by volunteers, communities and staff working together to look after their canal as a recreational green space.
Setting the national standard and providing a high level quality against which such spaces are measured, the award encourages high environmental and management standards and celebrates places that are constantly looking to improve their sites now and for future generations.
We know that lots of visitors enjoy using this beautiful canal every year. As a charity, we need you and your community to get involved, feel proud and support the achievements already made. Please take our short survey to help shape how we manage the canal in the future. The survey takes around 6 minutes to complete and you could be in with a chance of winning vouchers for a boat trip along the Chesterfield Canal. You don't have to leave any contact details if you don’t want to. Thank you for your time.
If you'd like to help us look after the Chesterfield Canal we'd love to hear from you - take a look at what's on offer by visiting our volunteering pages for more information.
