We're the charity that looks after 2,000 miles of waterways, and we believe in making life better by water. Our work helps to enhance the well-being of millions of people across England and Wales, providing them with free access to valuable green and blue spaces on their doorstep and giving them the opportunity to relax, de-stress, exercise, and appreciate the vital role that our more than 200-year-old waterways play in the communities they run through.

Every year, we spend more than 150 million pounds maintaining and improving our network of rivers and canals, and we deliver around 700,000 volunteering hours and engage more than 90,000 children and young people. But we don't do all of this work alone. Our reach into the heart of cities, towns, and villages provides many opportunities for businesses to partner with us. Our partnerships have a strong track record of delivery at a local regional, and national level and can make a real difference in a number of ways. Firstly, they promote health and wellbeing, by using canals and towpaths as free and accessible spaces to exercise, reflect, and recharge, we support people's mental as well as their physical health. They also protect and restore nature on the doorstep of millions of people.

We invest in waterways as a critical ecological network of green and blue infrastructure, helping to deliver climate action and address the biodiversity emergency. And lastly, our partnerships are able to provide inclusive opportunities using canals as shared places for outdoor learning that engage and inspire people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds, and enabling social action to preserve them for generations to come.

I'm Richard Parry. I'm chief executive of the Canal & River Trust, and I'm very proud of our many corporate partnerships.
