Stourport on Severn is a long way from the sea, but has the atmosphere of a true maritime holiday resort. Not surprisingly people from all over the region have been coming here for many years for a fun day out. It was once a busy inland port, which grew up around the point where the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal joins the River Severn.
Today the restored canal basins are a great place to discover the history of the Stourport and the River Severn.
Stop by our welcome station for leaflets and guides - and to to just chat about the local history with our volunteers. Our welcome station is at our Canal & River Trust office next to Top Barge Lock.
