Get your business involved

The business community historically and today has played a critical part in the sustainability of our canals. Towpaths and canals offer environmentally friendly routes to work, a history lesson in some of the oldest working trades and in engineering.

They can provide an outdoor experience for team building, a public awareness raising campaign about water safety and our environment, a destination to reach out to new customer audiences, a place to build social cohesion and an environmental haven for diverse wildlife. Read More

We think we are a unique charity that can provide a tailored charitable programme for companies like yours and that will be mutually beneficially to our organisations, the environment and the community we operate in.

Why us?

Impact – the scale of our network means we have a wide portfolio of opportunities for corporate investment across our environment, heritage, education and volunteering programmes and which deliver economic and social regeneration to our local communities.

Value for money - 100% of your funding goes directly to keeping our canals and rivers special – none of it will be spent on our administration and management overheads. We call it the golden pound.

Our reach – with over 10 million visitors each year and over 50% of the population of England and Wales living within five miles of one of our waterways, we have the potential to reach and engage a huge cross-section of society.

A destination – our waterways are special places – hidden havens – that need to be protected and valued enabling your staff and customers to get directly involved with our work.

As a charity we build partnerships that are sustainable. This aims to build awareness of each partner’s brand, organisational values and objectives which in turn makes an investment into the Trust and increased market share for the business partner. This ensures a ‘licence’ to operate to our customers, donors, volunteers and staff.
